Tis the season to be jolly, so here I am gently winding down for Christmas. Rob sent me this the other day, which I thought very funny. Steve followed up with this; also good. The yearly quest for a pub open on Christmas Day is over, thanks to Google, which pointed me at the Nag's Head in Knightsbridge. Hurrah! Looks like I'll be heading back to Denver for the New Year, if I can ever make sense of the way that air fares keep going up and down.

Back finally in London after my month-long Denver trip. Attended the Qwest UK Christmas party on Monday, which involved moderate carnage---the remains of which are still in evidence in the flat (which is otherwise fine---thanks Natalie). Still listening to Orbital, settling back into working at home and enjoying the luxury of Radio 4. Off to xdate tonight with Becky and Mark. Eek!

Still here in Denver, having just spent a four-day thanksgiving weekend up in Vail learning to snowboard. Paul and Mary and Matt came too. (Steve says "Who is this jolly beardless fellow on the snowboard? did you just meet him by accident or something? why is he not moving? does he really need two people to hold him up?"). Looking forward to coming back to London on Thursday, and (with luck) finding the flat unscathed. Natalie's supposed to be looking in on it every now and then, but remains mostly silent. Album of the week: Orbital's "Back to Mine".

Out here in Denver staying with Matt and Mary, who are being embarrassingly perfect hosts as always. Intent on becoming less recognisable day by day, I've joined a gym, bought a new coat, and even been spotted at events like this, which I went to with Becky the other day. It was kinda fun. Between work, Radio 4 and my iPod, I'm managing to keep sane.

So things are picking up; this week b3ta provided not only some cool animated optical illusions but also this, which I liked. I also persuaded an anonym to come with me to this, which was on Radio 4 yesterday. Mark warns "actual ladies may differ from those shown". Went for dinner in Primrose Hill with Natalie on Monday.

antidepressants: science's answer to heartbreak (but not much of one) Chris came round today, which was lovely. We walked to and then over the Heath; it was great to be outside after being stuck in with pericarditis. I've spent even more time than usual compulsively reading lowbrow.

I've just been uploading some photos of Lee and Veronika's wedding, which I went to on Friday. Was a great day... boating down the Cam in the sunshine drinking champagne. From the sublimey relaxed to the ridiculously stressed, though: it's now 2.20am and I'm flying to Denver in 10 hours. I should get packing...

Steve says "I grew a potato! it is 12 inches long and weighs over 2lbs (the potato, that is)". He sent me a flash animation of his potato. It's a pretty scary-looking vegetable. My site of the week is lowbrow.com. It's addictive reading.

Another day, another wedding. Just uploaded some photos from Matt and Lucy's reception. Those and a couple of other pictures I took at the weekend. Stu sent me an interesting article entitled "How Google beat Amazon and Ebay to the Semantic Web".

End of a medical week; got my first ever pair of glasses the other day, and this morning had my forehead cut open by this guy, who was very nice and asked me beforehand if I was a model. Ho ho. Post-adornments I look like this.

Wow... I made it onto the famous thosebears by sending in this picture of George Bush. Rob says: "It ain't a messageboard you know". Has the popbitch incident gone to his head?

Reading newsgroups again; always a bad sign. But I did come across this, which I thought was quite an appealing idea.

New today: not one, but two new photos of Natalie. She has new red hair. Also, a joke: I knew a girl who fell in love with 2 school bags. She said she was a bi-satchel. Ho ho!

Steve sent me this great thing today. Bit of a breakthrough at work, too. And hurrah for Easter holidays.
