Congratulations to Ros and Paul, who got married this last weekend. Chris sent me some pictures of the big event. I couldn't be there, since I have to wait for my visa before I'm able to travel. But lo!---not only has the application been filed, you can track it online!

Been doing lots of reading, too. Recently the 9/11 Commission Report (long; interesting), The Lovely Bones (recommended), Platform (dark and compelling), Evening (moving), Prime Obsession (excellently done). I also tried to read The Kalahari Typing School For Men but gave up. Whatever the big deal about these books is, it seems to completely pass me by. Steve would like you to consider reading his insect-infested blog, which I can highly recommend now it has an RSS feed.

I'm an uncle! Congratulations to Zoe and Brian on the birth of Tate Hepworth Evans, born on Monday at 1.03pm and weighing 8lb 13.5oz. Hurrah! Mmm... what else. I've been doing a lot of reading lately: in the last few weeks there's been the Armchair Economist (interesting but conceited), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (very good; touching), Peace Kills (terrible; facile), The Secret Life of Bees (a good read), 9-11 (erudite; pleasing), and currently A Certain Chemistry (less funny than the author thinks it is). I also accepted a job with Ubiquity, which I'll start before very long. Californ-eye-eigh here I come...

Yay! Back safely in Denver after my brief exile in Canada.

Just a couple of hours to go until I head to Ottawa airport and back to Denver. I've been reading this book, which is thought-provoking if somewhat cold and conceited. But it did this evening remind me of this this great article about pricing.

Sitting in my hotel room in Ottawa, watching a Discovery Channel TV show apparently about how to turn a Mustang into a lawn mower. Based on having been in one for several days during Road Trip 04, it seems like it would be something of an upgrade. Har har. Ottawa's nice enough; seems like a cross between Heidelberg and Seattle. Some beautiful old buildings, nice river, green open spaces, European-style cafes, but very definitely North American (which makes the Queen's head on the currency seem rather incongruous). Back to Denver on Thursday.

The job-hunt continues... in the meantime, I bought a LiliPod and some of these to entertain me while I'm swimming. The LiliPod is pretty amazing. Hey Crackhead was rather amusing.
